Econometrics is another name for quantitative analysis of business issues. Success or failure of businesses depend on how they fare on the bourses. The stock price of a business depends on internal factors, some of which are tangible while others are intangibles. It also depends on the external shocks and the external business and market environment. Econometrics can help assess quantitaively, in nominal terms, the impact of internal tangible and intangible factors on the performance of a firm. It can also assess the quantitative impact of external shocks and changes in external business and market environment.

Econometrics enriches itself from fruitful applications of its methods in business, industry, and government. New problems facing these organizations pose new challenges to econometricians. Econometricians cannot produce good results on their own. They need the help of the domain experts from within the organization to code their problems and issues into the synatx used by econometrics. The consultancy engagement is thus expected to be a team work betwen us and some persons within the organization.
